In this deal, I have the Celtics getting just under the 1st apron while taking back some multi year deals to do so. The nets get themselves off the Claxton deal and set themselves up for multiple max slots open next offseason, with players like Luka and Trae possibly available. Bulls cut under the luxury tax enough where a 30 million dollar Giddey contract keeps them under and the Mavericks get a really good bench shooter to bolster their rotation as a 7-8th man.
I doubt the celtics would want to take on 3 year deals as they more seem to try to be maximizing cap space for next offseason, but I think this could be an avenue where they find players who they envision potentially being in that 2027 rotation and playing cautious for a season. Claxton's negative contract is a tough pill to take on, but it bolsters the center spot they much need to set for the future.
