The Warriors are trying to win now and the fact they waited late to sign anybody, due to the Kuminga hold out, they had to settle with guys like Horford and Melton. Neither are bad, they just both have issues coming into the season that the coaches have to work around due to their game plan. One is coming off a major injury and the other is nearing 40 and won't play back to back games.

The Warriors trade off Moses Moody and get two smaller contract guys to fill some holes to attempt to win another championship. Svi is a great 3 point shooter, and the fact that Moody is traded would assume that it will also open more minutes for Podz as the Warriors FO sees more of a future on this team in him than they did in Moody. Hendrickson will come in as a big man defender that will take some load off of Draymond and Al/Quinten. Neither one brings exceptional differences to the team, but just adds to the depth and attempts to fix the weaknesses if they want to try to compete. I also say they trade off the upcoming drafts pick and receive the Lakers 27 pick basically saying these next two years is win now and 2027 will be some kind of new start since the bulk of the players currently rostered will be FA's by then.

The Jazz trade off two key depth assets just so other players can get more playing time on this team, especially their number 5 pick. They get Moses Moody who would be a fantastic starter and 3 point shooter on this young, maturing team (he is also underrated on the defensive side). They are doing a lot better than expected this season, try to make it to the playoffs, take the picks and add to your depth, then compete next year like OKC. The trade also adds an extra roster spot if they chose to sign another C since Kessler will be out, or if they think they need another PG.
