Nets were 7-4 in December... too much winning for a team that wants a top 3 pick. They need to get worse, and unloading Porter is their best option to do it. Receive two high value firsts and some short term bad money in return. They might just waive Collins or someone else (Wilson, Martin, etc.?) to get down to max 15 players.
