Why they do it: The Thunder have a great young corps, but what they lack is a proven perennial all-star player who has postseason experience. Pascal Siakam is an all-star caliber player year in and year out, and has also won a title with the Raptors. Siakam can start next to Chet, taking some of the pressure off the rookie.

Why they do it: The Raptors don't have a good enough team to compete. Pascal Siakam is going to want a max and all he's really gonna do is hinder Scottie Barnes' growth. Getting rid of him and adding youth allows them to begin their rebuild around Barnes instead of Siakam which should be the Raptors' priority. They get multiple picks, both protected and not as well as some solid role players to help them rebuild.
