The idea of DeRozan to Sacramento has been in the background for a couple weeks, but not really talked about. Trading Huerter for DeRozan makes them austensibly better. They'd have four legit distributors and a mini-Big 4 with Fox, Sabonis and Monk, with Keegan Murray, Barnes, Ellis, McDaniels and Achiuwa giving them a real puncher's chance come playoffs. They'd be just below the first apron here as well, which means they retain A TON of flexibility for future moves.
Chicago gets something for nothing with signing-and-trading for Huerter. His salary, contract length, age and fit, are a surprisingly good fit as they figure out what to do with LaVine.
