Hornets get a center and Sacramento get a possibly valuable pick, and 2 proven contributors in the league
Why Charlotte does this: After trading Mark Williams on draft night, and trading Jusuf Nurkic to Utah, there is a glaring hole at center for Charlotte. Kalkbrenner and Diabate are the 2 only centers on the roster. Sabonis would slide into Charlottes starting 5 very nicely, turning them into possible play-in contenders. While Bridges has been consistently and valuably healthy for Charlotte, less and less space is becoming available for him. After drafting 2 shot makers in the first round, Charlotte may be looking to move bridges.
Why Sacramento does this: Trading Sabonis is tough for Sacramento no matter the return, but I really like this return for them. Bridges is a flippable asset which could definitely give them assets. Josh Green is a very capable role player, like we saw in the 2024 playoffs for Dallas. Dallas' first round pick could be valuable considering Kyrie's age and AD's age and health concerns. Nick Smith I also think could be a very good player and specifically a good scorer in the future if he develops right, which could be valuable for Sacramento.
Let me know if you think Charlotte is giving up too much, or if Sacramento is not getting enough back. I feel this is fair for both teams, but let me know
