Based on the Bane trade, it appears Memphis could be headed toward a rebuild / retool. Philly previously said they'd trade #3 for an All-Star. Enter JJJ.

Why for both:

76ers: Jackson can play PF next to Embiid. The Memphis lineups with JJJ at PF and Edey at C were rated extremely high. If they all manage to be healthy come playoff time, Maxey, George, Jackson, and Embiid is pretty damn tough.

Grizzlies: Memphis gets a nice young player in McCain, some expiring money, presumably Ace Bailey (who happened to grow up in Chattanooga), and get out of paying JJJ. JJJ is probably going to demand a max contract, and I can't fathom paying him that kind of money given how Memphis is currently constructed. I'd just have no desire to lock myself into that money.
