Why the Pacers make this deal:

• The Pacers have been in win now mode since trading for Siakam last year. Indiana has made strides as of late, but may need to make an additional move to compete with the big dogs in the East. Trading for Walker Kessler and Jimmy gives Indiana a boost to their defense and raises their ceiling with a playoff tested Jimmy Butler. Additionally, the Pacers get to punt on paying for Myles Turner this offseason and acquire a young center to build around for years to come.

Why the Heat make this deal:

• The heat need to move on from Jimmy and getting Myles Turner and Aaron Nesmith helps them stay competitive this year. They may also be able to resign Myles in the offseason if the pairing next to Bam looks solid. Clarkson is really just salary filler as he has declined and the Jazz likely won't get much value for him anyway.

Why the Jazz make this deal:

• The Jazz have been shopping Kessler and are still looking to amass young talent. Getting a first round pick and Jarace is solid value for the young center and would be an interesting pairing next to Lauri.
