Why The Knicks Do It: For the Knicks they bolster their bench in a big way. With Burks, they get a player that can be a ball handler for them (as he was used in that role back when he was on the Knicks from 20-22), also he spaces the floor which will make life a lot easier for Brunson. As for Bojan, he's been one of the premiere perimeter shooter in the NBA for a while now, just like Burks he'll be able to come in and space the floor at a high clip. Also gives them another shot creator alongside Brunson and Randle.

Why the Pistons Do It: For the Pistons they get a young guard/wing in Grimes that fits the timeline of their young core (Cade, Ivey, Ausar & Duren) and gives them someone that can be a legit 3&D player in this league. Monty could try lineups of Cade/Ivey/Grimes/Ausar/Duren, and I'm sure it would be interesting to watch. This is the type of player they should be looking at, not making a short-sighted trade for a LaVine. As for the pick, they get their own back which is huge as it'll allow the franchise to trade any of their first's going forward without any restrictions.
