Matt Ishbia has proven to be hasty in his desire to win now. Though I personally wouldn't mortgage a future first-round pick given Phoenix's already short supply, this trade undoubtedly makes them better. At this stage in his career, Grant is still a rangy forward who can space the floor and add versatility on both ends. For Portland, they get off of Grant's large contract, add depth, and fully hand the keys at the power forward position to ascending talent Deni Avdija.
