The Warriors are one of the NBA's worst unassisted scoring teams (30.4%), significantly impacting the way they perform without Stephen Curry on the floor. Their source of offense sans Curry stems from Butler's ability to get downhill and score and, with a ton of their projected high-end scoring options other than these two not ideally producing, it might be time to buy in on one of the East's best three-point scorers.
McCollum is shooting 41% from three this season on seven attempts, a majority of those coming from isolation pull-ups. Washington has him on a $30M expiring contract that they are certainly plotting to move in exchange for young players or draft capital. This is the former, where the hand-crafted Kuminga contract is finally dealt to the tanking Wizards (along with a struggling Buddy Hield), and McCollum comes in to aide Golden State in a final championship push as a third option with second-option upside.
NOTE: Second-rounders are attached to the large McCollum contract in order to provide the incentive to the Warriors and, while an expiring 34-year-old isn't ideal, it allows the Warriors to potentially retain McCollum on a one-year deal should he contribute to standards.
