One of the weirder trades i’ve put together but it kind of makes sense the more I think about it

Blazers: For a lot of this year they were hovering around a .500 record and I think that for them there’s no reason to try to get worse. You put together a team that was expected to be early lottery and they exceeded expectations so why to add to that and see when you can go from there. They have some decisions to make with their back court (Scoot Simons, Sharpe) and it’s pretty obvious who the outlier is. Another crowded position is their center position more specifically their back up center position with Rob Williams, Donovan Clingan and Duop Reath so they trim down on that by trading Rob Williams. Going from Jerami Grant to Paul George will be huge from play in the court to overall mentorship for the young players and Jett Howard still has some potential as a big shooting wing.

76ers: PG is the type of talent that they want for sure but it just hasn’t worked and as a result of it Phili has struggled. George is absolutely still a tradable guy because of the sample size we have seen with him in Phili and the fact that we know he can be productive in a role along side other stars, but as far as their return for him here, I actually really like it. Tristan DaSilva is a guy that I wanted them to take with that 16th pick they had this summer, and while they made the far better decision with McCain, DaSilva has had some nice games as a versatile shooting wing with a good amount of potential. Jerami Grant is a guy who doesn’t need the ball in his hands all the time, but when he needs to step up, he can be a 20 ppg scorer at that four spot. His contract makes this trade much more desirable for portland as it is the same amount of years as Paul George, but around 19 million dollars less. Lastly Phili finally figures out their backup center position with Rob Williams long term as well as Adem Bona behind him which could really work out. His strengths are perfect to complement Embiid’s weaknesses as a mobile shot blocking energy big man.

Magic: Orlando seems to refuse to actually add shot creating, but they finally fix that issue here with a guy i’ve been saying they need for the longest time in Anfernee Simons. Simons is a guy who can get 20-25 points on any given night and while there is some to be desired playmaking wise, you also have Jalen Suggs in the backcourt with him and their skill sets complement each other perfectly. Trading KCP doesn’t hurt too much as he’s had a pretty bad year. Losing Tristan DaSilva isn’t ideal but he is an older rookie so there is kinda of a ceiling to his game, and it’s not the worst this ever. Jett Howard doesn’t look like he really has a future with the team, and you don’t mind losing that 2029 first because the team will be complete by them most likely.
