Now this isn’t supposed to be unrealistic in terms of the trade itself being crappy but more so that it’s a trade that shouldn’t happen for one or more teams involved

Here is my explanation as to why both teams should do this (really neither should)

Knicks positives

The knicks free up some cap space moving forward with KP on an expiring contract and overall they just take in less overall they also get Naw who is on a stellar contract for how good he plays

This would also give the Knicks a much needed boost from their bench guys as Bridges or Naw would become the 6th man in this trade

Knicks negatives

They are already one of the best teams in the league and by trading towns for future assets and a much worse player at the position doesn’t make you overall better just deeper and improves you’re draft capital

But they don’t need to do this and honestly not sure why the Kay trade rumors are stirring as much as they are

Hawks positives

Really they just get better idek if it’s positive though lol

Hawks negatives

They trade Naw who is on a great long term contract and has been playing like an all star for them this year and by trading Kristaps they tighten the salary cap and have less expiring money in this situation

They also just hard commit to being in the 6-9 range for a while and don’t give themselves much room to rebuild and retool

Ultimately this isn’t a great trade for either team and they should both pass
