Total fire sale. They clear house, become significantly younger, restock on draft capital and get out from being a tax-paying team. Their team as constructed cannot compete - this version has substantial future potential.

Rockets:

They go all in on a championship this season by bringing Harden and CP3 back. They would also have to pay Eason next season, and this alleviates a future obligation in that sense (they also have to pay Thompson).

Nets:
