It can't just be KAT and Hart grabbing boards out there, you need reinforcements:
The Knicks are currently 23rd in rebounds, trailing the 1st by a deficit of 4.9 a game in 56 games played. (That's a lot) Against the Celtics this season Knicks are down a combined -33 rebounds over a total of 3 games. Feb23:40-49 Feb8:30-48 Oct22:34-40 all wins for the green team.
So, allow me introduce to you Oscar Tshiebwe. Anyone who knows about this guy, knows how good at rebounding he is! He currently averages 17.1 rebounds (in the G) in just under 29 minutes of play. This is a board man, who just doesn't get paid.
He is 24 years of age, listed 6'8, plays PF, is completely healthy, and ready to be run until his knees turn to dust! From my point of view: This is a Thibbs Guy if I've ever seen one. And if you place him beside KAT? He won't even need to score, and You could consider your rebounding woes OVER!
And to show you he's the real deal, just take a look at his wiki page for his college accolades:
2× NCAA rebounding leader
National college player of the year (2022)
Consensus first & second-team All-American (2022-3) and so on...
I don't know if this move is at all possible rn, since Tshiebwe is currently on a 2-way with Utah... but if they miraculously decide to release him (they aren't playing him after all) or if the Knicks simply sign him in the off-season; Then I believe he could EASILY change how this team looks competitively.
And if you do go get him in the off-season, or maybe before the playoffs (if you're lucky). That's a guy that costs the minimum, who could really boost your contending odds. Would I make this their last move if I were them? No, of course not! but it is a big fix that uses up the figurative effort of a sigh.
