Why would the Bulls do this?
The Bulls get off both Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic and acquire 2 expiring deals as well as adding a good NBA vet in Kevon Looney. Getting of Lonzo allows them to assess their guard play for the rest of their season; which will mainly benefit them as Josh Giddey is a free agent this offseason and the Bulls can further evaluate him and his worth.
Adding GP2 will give the Bulls better perimeter defence, something their guards have struggled with this season. He is also another great vet that they can add to their rebuilding roster. Adding another wing could also potentially see the Bulls finally move on from Zach Lavine's contract.
Adding Kevon Looney would be a short-term replacement for Vucevic; he's also a player that can keep the Bull's as a top 10 rebounding team.
3 second round picks might be all they can get in terms of draft capital as teams in the market for Nikola Vucevic don't have much more in terms of picks (LAL, Kings as examples)
Julius Randle has a player option, however a trade to the Bulls will most likely make him decline it and test himself in the open market. If he does accept it, it will leave the Bulls with more cap space for next seasons free agency; where they may find better fits for their roster.
Last of all this trade will confirm that the Bulls are selling, increasing interest in their more expendable players.
The Warriors add more:
The Warriors need good piece next to Curry, one that which can be a more reliable second scoring option and Vucevic could be that.
They have a great defence; currently tenth in the NBA for team defensive rating meaning Vucevic's lacklustre defensive skillset shouldn't be much of a liability
The Warriors could do with an interior presence on offence, as they rank 23rd in the NBA for points in the paint and 27th in pick and roll attempts by the bigman.
They aren't giving up much depth or draft capital
The Wolves improve PG play:
Lonzo Ball has been great defensively, having a defensive rating of 108.1 in limited minutes
His playmaking will relieve the ball handling responsibility given to Ant
This will open up the floor to increase Ant driving to the basket instead of jacking up 3s
They get off a very large contract, allowing them to resign NAW in the offseason
Conley hasn't been good this season and Chris Finch clearly doesn't trust Rob Dillingham, meaning adding another PG would be good for the TWolves
They won't have Randle opting in for another year, offering them some flexibility
The possible downsides with this trade
Lonzo Ball coming arriving in Minnesota will leave them short at PF and have so many guards, meaning the front office will have the react fast to strike a better balanced roster.
Lonzo Ball hasn't been efficient in his limited minutes
Warriors seem very reluctant to add any pieces so this may not happen
Bulls may delusionary look out for a first or two, which means they won't move on from Vucevic
Randle has a very unappealing contract so who knows what will happen with him
