Ja Morant to Phoenix, Jalen Green to Memphis, Grayson Allen to Pistons

SUCCESS

WHY PHOENIX

For just a few million more, what they hope to get from Jalen Green they will for sure get from Ja. They just might play the same amount of games so that's no loss either. Ja is a supremely better fit next to Devin Booker due to his ability to playmake and kick it out to the perimeter. Trading Allen will be difficult but they also will have hope that KCP can come in and play his 3&D role despite the down year. Reuniting Ja with Dillon Brooks will have Phoenix hopeful that they can capture some of the magic those two had the last time that they were teammates.

WHY PISTONS

Grayson Allen does something the Pistons LOVE on one side of the ball and something that the Pistons NEED on the other. Defensively Allen plays with a ton of grit. As dangerous as the Pistons already are defensively can you imagine the havoc that they would reek even more with Allen? They could actually play him with any unit and he'd fit due to his range. The Pistons aim big. They trade a pick that will at this point be a end of the draft pick and a swap for Allen and GG Jackson who is still an interesting prospect in his own right. The Pistons are in win-now mode. This would be a win -now move that keeps them more flexible that what you may see on the surface. Allen has been one of the better shooters in the league over the last few years. Cade Cunningham and the Pistons will absolutely love him.

WHY GRIZZLIES

The Grizzlies trade one former #2 overall pick for another. They take on the Jalen Green prospect in hopes that his hyper-athleticism (one that rivals that of Ja Morant's if I must say) and the scoring ability he's flashed in games at times can come to fruition after the trade. The real value is in the depth that they obtain while adding picks. This could easily be a first move of many. I'd expect them to tank the season, get a lottery pick, and continue to build on what they have. With players like Jaren Jackson Jr., Santi Aldama, and Zach Edey still on the roster they have a real pieces to build around post-Ja Morant era.
