It's fairly easy to see where the Lakers are struggling most. Cam Johnson has been in trade talks for many years, and the Nets finally get what they want: 3 first-round picks. Offers for him may be high this off-season as it seems to be a "seller's market," but three firsts and a playable wing might be one of the best offers. The Blazers finally make room for Clingan, RWIII brings in Dalton, who is essentially a first, and Maxi for contracts. As for the Bulls trade, I kind of just threw in there because with the addition of Cam, Hayward, and LeVert, Rui becomes pretty expendable, especially at that price tag. The Bulls' front office has made some pretty bad decisions and does not really look to get draft capital back, and this would essentially just be another part of their course. Initially, I was going to take Lonzo and Jevon, but Jevon is loved by the city, from what I've heard, and Jevon is the same player as Shake Milton. I would love Ayo, but I'm not too sure how deeply in love the franchise is with him. I know he is a Chicago kid, so that changes stuff too. Hayward brings the Heat back a 2nd and Shake Milton, a decent package where they will likely be making plenty of trades this offseason (hopefully). Clint Capela finds another perfect role where his value is maximized, becoming a rebounding-lob-threat that he has been all his career. LeVert comes in as an additional ball handler who can alleviate pressure and is another scoring option. I doubt after these playoffs Davion doesn't return to the Heat, but I could see a world where he is essentially left to rot in free agency. If he gets picked up, the Lakers should look to get Markelle Fultz or another guard.
Now, all these signings are contingent on LeBron finally taking the pay cut he continues to say he will take. Hopefully, he will for the betterment of his legacy.
