Tackling the two biggest trade targets in 1 deal!
Why the Heat say yes: Miami get rid of the unhappy Jimmy Butler and the drama that surrounds him in exchange for the best possible package they could receive. Wiggins and Johnson will be able to replace Butler's productivity on both ends and then some. This is the only deal I could see Miami get better after trading Jimmy.
Why the Warriors say yes: Golden State is desperate to do whatever they can to compete for a championship while Curry is still around. Outside of Wiggins, the players they are sending out are all expiring and would likely not return next season. Giving away picks when your stars are this old definitely hurts but its a necessary risk for a franchise that needs to do whatever it can to give Steph Curry that 5th ring. Jimmy is a great fit and Jovic could be a valuable wing to have off the bench.
Why the Nets say yes: This is the best possible package the Nets could get in a CJ trade. 3 FRPs, 1 SRP, a very good young player that they can afford to extend in Jonathan Kuminga and a couple of veterans with championship experience.
All 3 teams get exactly what they've wanted. Miami remain competitive, Golden State get a new star to pair with Curry, and Brooklyn get a significant trade package including 3 first round picks.
