In this trade, I was trying to take into account how this would affect each team's payroll now and in the near future. Dwyane Wade represents the Heat's newly drafted Kel'el Ware, and Aaron Holiday represents the Rockets' newly drafted Reed Sheppard.

I love this trade for the Heat. As a Heat fan, I do think it is his time to go, and this would be an amazing return with Amen Thompson headlining the package.

On the other hand, I think it would be very tough to convince the Rockets to trade Amen Thompson, but if they are really as "all-in" as is being reported, then they should get at least 1 full season of VanVleet, Green, Butler, Jabari, and Sengun, with Sheppard, Whitmore, Tate, Green, and Adams off the bench. Hopefully, they would be able to retain Jimmy going forward, and they would have at least another year to run it back with the same squad.

I think Dillon Brooks is a sneaky-good acquisition for Miami because he fits the culture and can be flipped next offseason after a good 24-25 season. Heat's core going forward consists of Amen, Herro, Jaquez, Jovic, Bam, and Ware if he pans out.

Also, Heat take on Jock Landale's contract to help out the Rockets' payroll situation and as a way to convince Rockets to part ways with 2 good young players.
