Is this a salary dump level trade the Bulls would accept just to get off that contract? I really feel like LaVine would fit well on the Raptors and add a scoring and shooting boost to a team looking to find its way back to the playoffs.

Bulls would do this just to fully commit to the tank and get LaVine's massive contract out of Chicago. They look forward to the potential of getting Cooper Flagg or one of the other top-tier talents in this upcoming class and give the keys fully over to Coby, Giddey, and Buzelis.

Raptors would do this to buy low on a 2-time all star coming off a down, injury-riddled year and hope he can bounce back to the 24.8, 4.5, 4.2 on 48.5% from the field and 37.5% from 3 player that he was just the year before when he played 77 games. His contract also lines up with RJ's and Poeltl's each of which has three years left on their deals, which gives the Raptors three years with this core (with Quickly and Scottie being under contract for 5 and 6 years, respectively), but they can give up after two if it is clearly not working out since an expiring contract can be really easy to trade to a team looking to have lots of cap space the following offseason.

Bulls Starting Lineup:

Josh Giddey, Coby White, Patrick Williams, Matas Buzelis, Nikola Vucevic

Raptors Starting Lineup:

Immanuel Quickley, Zach LaVine, RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl
