Poole has been great this season (at least as compared to his last two seasons) and has proven already he can play winning basketball at the highest level. Valanciunas comes to San Antonio to bring a continuous veteran presence and solid backup center minutes, as well as giving the Spurs flexibility to run Wemby at PF if they choose to do so.

Spurs also get off of Zach Colllins's contract (a guy many Spurs fans despise). Jones goes to Washington to find a bigger role as his role has dwindled with the Spurs this season. Branham is thrown in a salary filler + an additional young guy, and Julian Champagnie gets to go play alongside his brother Justin in Washington.

Think this is a win-win and if Poole doesn't pan out for the Spurs, you didn't give up a whole lot.
