Firstly, Caris LeVert is re-signed to a 4 year deal. Using the full non taxpayer mid level exception they sign to a 3 year deal Josh Richardson who chooses the Cavs over other options due to the unique opportunity to fight for a starting job on a playoff team. Using their trade exception acquired via trading Ochai Agbaji, they trade a 2nd for Mike Muscala helping Washington in their goal of shedding as much salary as possible. Muscala will be useful as a backup Center who can space the floor. Danny Green and (much to the annoyance of most Cavs fans) Dylan Windler are brought back on minimum contracts. Cavs save the Bi Annual Exception to be used next offseason when they will no longer have the option of using the full non taxpayer mid level exception. They will now be a tax paying team, but if they wish to convince Donovan Mitchell to stay long term, then Dan Gilbert must be willing to go into the luxury tax this year and heavily into the Luxury Tax in future years. Two Way Contracts go to Isaiah Mobley, Emoni Bates, and Craig Porter Jr. Draft and stash players are Khalifa Diop and Luke Travers.
