Heat Depth Chart

Dejounte Murray - Caleb Martin - Jimmy Butler - Kevin Love - Bam Adebayo

Tyler Herro - Duncan Robinson - Jaime Jaquez Jr - Haywood Highsmith - Nikola Jovic

Hawks: The Hawks have had Murray in trade talks for a few weeks now, so a move is imminent. This season does not have much hope for the Hawks. They missed out on Siakam in the trade market to pair with Trae and they are currently a distant 10th in the Eastern Conference. The best solution for the future of the time might be to tank this year to but themselves in the best position to put together a young core around Trae. The Hawks should draft someone with a high lottery pick to pair with Trae. Multiple key players should also be added via trade, the Hawks will have a good portion of tradeable draft capital after this trade. The expiring Kyle Lowry contract puts them just under the salary cap limit for next season. Following this move up with trading Capela and potentially others and consolidating assets to build a young core around Trae is the most viable solution for the Hawks at the moment. They could also go on an all-out rebuild which means trading Trae, but choosing that path is less likely than retooling around Trae.

Heat: Dejounte Murray provides solid backcourt defense at the one. He is the perfect facilitator for this Miami team. Recently, it has been reported that Miami is looking to trade away Kyle Lowry and make a move. With Atlanta, Murray is the secondary ball-handler behind Trae Young. However, in his last season with San Antonio, he was the primary ball-handler and averaged a very good 9.2 APG. He has great potential as a lead point guard where his size doesn't limit him and he is the lead guard. Miami does not have to give up much depth to make this move, they are arguably a deeper team with this. The Heat have a very deep starting lineup and 2nd unit, and even their bench is solid. This move allows that team to have it's best potential unlocked. It gives Adebayo the best PNR partner that he has played with. This Miami team can never be ruled out any year and adding Murray just makes it even harder to rule out Miami from being a contender.
