The Hawks have made a mistake they believe that Trae Young is Steph. That’s why they traded for Murray who is really another punt guard because they believed that Trae and his shooting prowess can and needs to play off ball more. But he’s not Steph, a better comparison would be a scoring Steve Nash. Trae does need to learn how to play without the ball. But not come off 5 screens and pin downs like Steph does. Trae needs to run pick and rolls and isolations and let him hit spot up threes when he’s open. That being said….

The Hawks do this one to get rid of John Collins who doesn’t want to be there. They also get rid of Murray who was a weird fit. The Hawks scoring mainly comes from perimeter players. This trade brings in Porzingis who can score in a variety of ways for Atlanta. They also can preserve Porzingis more than other teams because they have Ocongwu who can do the dirty work. Ocongwu I believe is and can be a starter. The Hawks also add another 2 way wing who can score and defend. This deal would also allow Atlanta to play Jaylen Johnson more a 6”9 lengthy wing more. That would make Atlanta a dangerous team because they would essentially now have 4 defenders and spacing around Trae. And their bench would make them scary.

Trae/Morris Advinja/Bogdonovic Hunter/Bey Porzingis/Johnson Ocongwu/Demarcus Cousins??

The Wizards make this move to finally build around Beal. With this they add a point guard and a center to cover up Beal and Kuzma’s bad defense and they add John Collins who can hit open shots and be a lob threat. I think Beal allows Murray to be on ball more is which is better for his game. Overall a better team and fit for everyone.
