2026 2nd RD Pick
2029 2nd RD Pick
Blazers Trade:
Jerami Grant
Kris Murray
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON A POTENTIAL MPJ FOR GRANT SWAP?
MY THOUGHT PROCESS & REASONING FOR TRADE:
Nuggets just got eliminated by the Wolves in a close 7 game series. Could they run it back? Absolutely. However, they might consider retooling their roster to improve their starting lineup/bench.
MPJ is a great player. He also can be a very streaky scorer, as seen in this playoff run. If any Denver starter were to be moved, my money is on him. He is still young enough to fit into timelines with other rebuilding teams (25 years old) and offers playoff experience and leadership.
I believe Portland would be a great spot for him to land. He would slide into their starting 3/4 spot and take pressure off Henderson and Sharpe as they develop together for the next half-decade. Portland also lands some draft capital in the trade for their rebuild.
The Nuggets land an old friend in Jerami Grant, an underrated 3&D Wing with prior experience in the Nuggets Offensive System. He would be a dependable 3rd option behind Jokic and Murray. Grant is also slightly cheaper than Porter, which allows the Nuggets more flexibility in shaping their roster.
To make salaries work, I needed to add another player. In this case, I chose Kris Murray. He would develop alongside Braun and Watson and form a solid 3 wing trio for the Nuggets bench. If Kris Murray is too valuable for the Blazers, then they would have to swap in another player OR Denver needs to add more draft capital to satisfy them.
