RECAP

The Pacers made a splash by trading for Lavine and then swapping Turner for Allen. The Pacers will make another move to (hopefully) rise to the top of the Central Divsion.

The Trade

Bogdanovic, 27 SRP & 28 SRP LF for Nesmith, Nowra, Sheppard & 27 SRP ( via Jazz)

Pacers: They already ended up with Lavine and Allen and they needed one more piece. So they traded for Bojan. He can add to the already stacked lineup of Hali, Lavine, Allen and Mathurin. His shooting can provide some spacing in a non shooting frontcourt.

They also get 2 SRP’s that might be meaningless as Detroit could be good then so….

But there is still one thing Indy needs - DEPTH.

They traded away most of their depth in the 3 trades they made.

So they better fix that quickly.

Pistons: Detroit continues to kinda tank, but after adding Vuc they kinda get older and COULD rise up n the standings.

They got Nowra, who is a younger version of Harris (but as a forward) who could be valuable off the bench. He can play the Bojan role perfectly.

Nesmith has bounced around teams so far but he could find a role in Detroit. Nesmith’s Jack of all trades ability can be helpful as a bench piece. He can drive in the paint so they could have some lineups as him as small ball 5 when they want rest Duren and Vuc. Nesmith is probably more likely to stick with P-Will than Nowra as he can be a little more valuable.

Sheppard is a rookie who could build up to be a bench scorer down the line (6 years) and could get minutes on the clearly rebuilding Pistons.

The Pacers have one more move left…. Getting Depth.
