Am I crazy, or does this work for both sides?

SUCCESS

For the Nets they get a high quality young veteran role player to help show the young kids they are about to be overloaded with how to be an NBA player. Plus 2 young kids with lottery level talent that just haven't been able to get on the floor to show if they can live up to the promise of that talent. They also get a pick in the low to mid 20's in the 26 draft because the 26 pick that I included is the 2nd most favorable of the Rockets, Clippers and Thunder. They also get a true lottery ticket in the Utah pick that could be as high as number 9 in 26, but because of the protections might be converted to 2 SRP in a future draft. Other than Johnson, who is admittedly probably the biggest trade chip on the market right now, this only costs them around $4 million in cap room next summer.

For the Thunder they get deeper and bigger. This trade would be accompanied by them converting Ajay Mitchell to a 4 year standard minimum contract. And it leaves a spot open for an experienced guard on the buyout market after the deadline. But the real improvement is the shooting of Johnson combined with his increased size on Joe and the addition of Sharpe. The Thunder have struggled at times with there shooting, and teams that have 2 bigs that can play together have punished them on the boards. This should improve when Holmgren returns from injury, but the addition of Sharpe helps until then and he can fight with Jaylin Williams for minutes after Holmgren returns. With these moves they project to be close to the luxury tax after taking 2 FRP in the late teens early 20s before resigning Sharpe. But unless my math is wrong I think they have about $7-8 million to resign Sharpe if they waive Jaylin Williams, but if that isn't enough to get him signed they can let him go and keep Jaylin Williams. If the Miami pick doesn't convey this year it means that the Thunder will have at least 1 FRP through 2031 and extra FRPs in 25, 26, 27 and 29 to replace the players that they will have to let go due to luxury tax concerns.

My opinion is that these are pretty solid returns for both teams, that provide them both with what they want at this point in their cycle. What does everybody else think?
