Alr for the Wolves they gain some financial flexibility by clearing up over 7 million in that trade. They trade away 2 expiring contracts (one of them is hurt for the season, and the other is a vet who shouldn’t be a rotational player) a first, and a second for PJ Washington. This fixes their starting power forward situation immediately and I think pj can work perfectly with ant ball McDaniels and co.. They say yes to this for sure!

For the Mavs they get off the Caleb Martin contract and also clear 2 forwards off their logjam roster of forwards. In return they are getting guys that they won’t play much at all, although it would be nice seeing Josh green again. They get a first round pick and over 25 million dollars in expiring money so that they can be extremely financially flexible next year. As a bonus they also only trade one second to get off Martin.

For the Pels they sell high on Saddiq beyond for a first, not much to say there. They also take on Caleb Martin’s contract for second round draft capital.

For the rockets, I see them having a clear 9 man rotation prior to this trade. PG VanVleet Sheppard SG Amen Smart SF Durant ? PF Jabari Smith Tari Eason C Sengun Adams. As you can see they are missing a backup forward. They have one in Eason, but their second one is a mystery. Now we all know Eason is a great defender and is taking steps to have a better three point shot but overall he is very limited offensively imo. This is why they grab a potential 6th man of the year candidate who just averaged 17 points a game to provide meaningful minutes and score a lot off the bench. For the price of a first that will most likely be in the mid 20’s? Deal.
