Celtics dump a guy they got back in the KP trade, don't need, and won't be back after this upcoming season regardless, and use the newfound space to re-sign Horford at the vet min and Kornet at a $10M AAV (I did 9-10-11 on the contract) while staying below second apron and without having to dump Hauser. Obviously this assumes that Horford would prefer to stay put in Boston and take less money.
The Warriors have trouble with shooting in their frontcourt. One thing Niang can do is shoot; he's consistently over 40% from three on about 2 makes a game. Niang goes into a trade exception created in the Jimmy Butler trade that's juuuust big enough to fit him, and at $8M he's another guy they can piece together with Moody and/or Hield if they want to go shopping at the deadline again.
The second rounder is just there to fill space, it's not important. Protect it 31-55, do cash considerations instead, do it for a Buffalo Wild Wings gift card for all I care. The cap room is its own reward.
