Melo4MVPs gave me this challenge: trade away Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Cam Johnson.
I made 4 trades:
Trade 1 — Spurs San Antonio receives: Aaron Gordon Denver receives: Kendall Johnson + Bryan Carter + 2 second-round picks
Trade 2 — Warriors Golden State receives: Cam Johnson Denver receives: Moses Moody + De'Anthony Melton + 2 second-round picks
Trade 3 — Rockets Houston receives: Jamal Murray Denver receives: Fred VanVleet + Reed Sheppard + Clint Capela + 1 first-round pick
Trade 4 — Trail Blazers Portland receives: Nikola Jokić Denver receives: Scoot Henderson + Deni Avdija + Jrue Holiday + 3 first-round picks
I know this roster would have way too many guards, but I think these are some of the best offers each team could realistically give. Obviously, if this were real life, you would probably have to make some more trades afterward to balance the roster.
But that's kind of the point: after these trades, Denver has young players, a bunch of picks and more flexibility for the future. You lose a lot of talent right now, but you give yourself plenty of room to rebuild.
