The Magic get the young point guard they need to round out their core. Garland fits this role perfectly and gives them someone who can take some of the pressure off of Franz and Paolo offensively. They’re getting an all-star caliber player for not too steep of a price. This is a good trade for them.

The Cavaliers need to balance out their roster. They have way too many small guards on their team. Giving more minutes to athletic wing players should help them in the playoffs. Looney gives them a reserve center that can step in if Allen gets hurt.
