Trade 'fails' but can be fixed with a small non-guaranteed contract thrown in, which will be easy to arrange in the offseason.
Milwaukee's goal: add a halfcourt dynamo in case they get stonewalled in the playoffs this year. If teams are building a wall against Giannis, the offense has to function in the halfcourt, & Zach is one of the most dynamic shooters in the game. Chicago sends back some nice 3&D players as part of the deal as well.
For Chicago, it's all about getting back into the playoffs while maintaining youth & flexibility. Bledsoe is a cheaper contract than LaVine, a borderline all-star, and a proven vet. Ersan is a winner. DJ & Sterling (or Pat Coughnaton, in another version of the deal) are currently better players than Kornet and Arcidiacano that are buried in Milwaukee's rotation and have nice potential. Chicago gets a first round pick to sweeten the deal.
