Cleveland accepts a short term step back to forge a path toward a more sustainable future by restocking picks lost in the original Mitchell trade and adding a mix of prospects and players to rebalance and stabilize the roster around its core of Garland and Mobley.

Philadelphia adds the ideal wing between its two pillars, Maxey and Embiid, while maintaining enough cap room to build out its roster in pursuit of a title.

Brooklyn adds Mitchell, with both parties aligned on an upcoming max extension. While the Nets would have liked to pair Mitchell with Bridges, it takes the best deal it can get while maintaining enough assets and flexibility to pursue another star.

Oklahoma City parts with Giddey, a helpful player who has become an ancillary piece, and Wallace, a rotation player with exciting prospects if he fulfills his potential, for much needed size and energy. Another iteration of the trade could have OKC trading a first round pick in lieu of Wallace, but Cleveland likely prefers more than just futures to mitigate the loss of Mitchell and Allen.
