Suns buy into a positional need

SUCCESS

Let me hear yalls opinions! I dont think this trade is too realistic, but I think it could be fun!

NOTE: I am a big Jarace Walker believer, and I think he would fit super well around the young frontcourt that Phoenix is building in Williams and Malauach (sorry for spelling)

Indy's side: Pros:

  • Value in a young player in Oso and in picks. Additionally, Royce could be traded for further assets or be used as a vet bench player.

  • They give Jarace to thrive somewhere else when their own front court is still too crowded for him to find a role (IMO). Cons:

  • If he even somewhat lives up to his potential, this would be a massive steal for Phoenix.

  • The picks being received are not that great. The FRP is least favorable between Cleveland, Minnesota, and the Jazz, which means it will be a 20s FRP. -Indy further crowds their forward position and takes on salary, which would make the Mathurin extension more difficult.

Phoenix's side: Pros:

  • IMO, the PF position is by far the weakest on this team, so taking an upside swing on a young player who hasn't had the right opportunity yet. They add scoring and defense, and I think he can also play SF if needed.

  • None of these picks will end up being too valuable, probably, so this package is okay to send out despite Phoenix's limited draft capital.

  • They save money in the short term and open up more cap to resign Williams and Jarace. Cons:

  • Jarace might just end up sucking. -They might not have the cap space to resign these guys after the Beal buyout.

  • it could end up crowding up the front court with Williams, Maluach, and Walker, creating the same problem for which Jarace was traded in the first place.

Final thoughts: I think that if anyone says no its Indy. With the Hali injury they got to hold onto all the young talent they got to replace his offensive output and this package is not a steal for them.
