Lakers: Al Horford(BOS), Bruno Fernando(BOS), Frank Jackson(DET), Isaiah Livers(DET), 2023 Second via HOU(BOS), 2026 Top 10 Prot(BOS)
Celtics: Russell Westbrook(LAL) and Jerami Grant(DET)
Pistons: Josh Richardson(BOS), Juancho Hernangomez(BOS), Romeo Langford(BOS), Aaron Nesmith(BOS), 2022 First(BOS), 2024 First Top 10 Prot(BOS)
This isn’t the cleanest of all trades but here is some reasoning.
LAL: Lakers want to contend and Russell Westbrook is getting in the way of that. He has played tremendously bad this season and is a negative overall. Even though they are receiving less value in return player wise, they do gain depth and draft capital. Two years ago Lebron and AD won a championship and I wouldn’t doubt if they could do it again. They also get a good veteran to play center in Al Horford. Even though that he’s on a bad contract, Russ is on an even worse contract.
Starting Lineup: Rondo, Monk, Bron, AD, Horford
Bench: Bradley, THT, Bazemore, Carmelo, Dwight
Rest of Bench: Jackson, Ellington, Reaves, Ariza, Sekou, Livers, Fernando, DeAndre, and Huff
BOS: Boston has deeply underperformed to start the season. This trade gets them two veteran players that are still very good. It wouldn’t be the greatest fit for Russ at point, but this would give you a lot of talent. Even though you lose a lot of your young pieces and Draft Capital, you are getting a championship roster for the next couple years. This is a very short term trade for Boston, but if they win a ring, they know it’s because of this trade.
Starting Lineup: Russ, Brown, Grant, Tatum, Williams
Bench: Pritchard, Schroder, Smart, Williams, Freedom
Rest of Bench: Bodric, Hauser
DET: Detroit is going full rebuild mode and this starts with getting Jerami Grant out. Losing this contract gives them the ability for the signing of a huge free agent, or to help build around Cade. They get young players and draft capital, seems perfect for them.
Starting Lineup: Cade, Richardson, Bey, Lyles, Stewart
Bench: Killian, Cory, Jackson, Hernangomez, Olynyk
Rest of Bench: Lee, McGruder, Nesmith, Langford, Diallo, Pickett, Garza
