With rumors of Brauns next contract being in the 30mil a year ballpark, Denver must look to trade CB this year otherwise they may lose him for nothing in the offseason. As it stands, right now they will lose either Braun or Watson next summer since they can’t pay both. Peyton has looked like he finally made the leap Denver has been waiting for and his contract will be much smaller than Brauns next offseason. In order to keep flexibility and the ability to build around Jokic, they need to avoid big contracts. Especially overpaying players like they have with previous contracts.

If Denver gives Braun 30+ mil a year, they will be crippled in the future and back to being limited in the moves they can make. Christian Braun is a player that will get overpaid due to Jokic making him look good. They should look to flip him for Ayo Donsunmu and the other pieces for Javon Carter. As they’re still missing a backup PG and that hole will be exploited at some point this season.
