Why the Pacers do it: Rebuilding around a Sexton/Duarte backcourt and a Simmons/Turner frontcourt is a dream come true for Indiana. This team immediately takes them out of purgatory and makes them relevant and promising.

Why the Cavs do it: The Cavs are 3rd defense, and 4th in net rating, despite playing the toughest schedule in the league. Their one problem, to quote Zach Lowe is that "their wings are a disaster." Warren & LeVert instantly solve that problem and all they lose is a player they weren't planning on paying anyways.

Why the 76ers do it: The '6ers continue to argue that Simmons is only available for a top 30 player. Sabonis is an all star, very close to the top 30, and one could argue is a top 30 player. The fit isn't great, but I get the sense that the 76ers care more about talent than fit. They'd be willing to work the fit out later, or even trade Sabonis down the line, provided they got what they perceive as good value. I think Sabonis fits that criteria. Philadelphia is a real contender this year if they can get an all star for Simmons, and here they do.

Note: This is essentially 2 different trades for the Pacers

Potential Modifications: Indiana could extend Sexton and use salary matching from someone other than Love Philly could ask for Sabonis + Duarte Philly could ask for a 2023 or 2024 1st (when Indiana thinks they'll be good again) Philly could use Sabonis in a 3-team trade to get a guard or wing
