The trade that fixes everything

People might say this is too much for the Bucks, but a top-3 player is almost never available in the NBA. Most mock trades have Atlanta sending Trae Young for Giannis, but I actually think this deal makes more sense fit-wise. The Bucks get Myles Turner, who’s both healthier and more reliable at this stage than Porzingis, and gives them a cleaner defensive identity moving forward. For Milwaukee, this is also a reset. They can see if they can unlock Scoot Henderson’s potential while stacking flexibility and future assets. For Portland, they’re getting a true running mate for Deni Avdija and can try to mimic Boston’s two-big-wing system. Adding Porzingis might seem redundant given their center depth, but they can experiment with a five-out offense, and if it doesn’t work, it’s the final year of his contract anyway. The two first-round picks Portland sends back to Milwaukee are essentially: one attached to Jalen, and one as compensation for absorbing Jerami Grant’s contract. Overall, it’s aggressive—but when a player of this caliber becomes available, playing it safe usually isn’t an option.
