Lakers get Claxton who's exactly what they need on both ends. A great shot blocker and rim protector who can execute all PnR coverages very effectively on defense. He's excellent when containing the ball until the guard recovers, and can hold his own on switches vs wings and guards w/o outlier burst, speed, or quickness. He's also effective in drop, as he's good at momentarily containing the drive and then veering back to his man. On offense, he's the perfect rim running big for Luka. Super athletic lob threat who sets pretty good screens, and is a decent handoff hub and short roll passer.

The Lakers use their MLE on NAW, who is an elite PoA defender. He's become one of the best screen navigators in the NBA, both in the PnR and as an off ball chaser, using his strength, quickness, and footwork to fight over the top of screens w/o getting taken out of the play. He's also great at defending guards and wings 1-on-1, able to use his quickness to stay w/them and strength to cut them off laterally, forcing the guy he's either guarding into a turnover or a contested jumper. On offense, he's at worst a respectable spot-up shooter who shot 38% from 3 on 4.5 attempts this szn. He can also put the ball on the floor and attack closeouts.

Overall, with just these 2 moves, the Lakers have a very good combination of star power and primary shot creation with Luka and LBJ. A young and athletic defensive anchor who's a great lob threat, screen setter, and decent short roll passer in Claxton. 2 great 3&D players in DFS and NAW who are great and good spot-up shooters respectively, and are great at defending wings in isolation or hounding guards 1-on-1 and fighting over screens like a dog respectively. A 3rd shot creator who can come off the bench and give them an offensive spark in Reaves. In addition to role guys like Rui and Vando who bring their own unique skillset off the bench. A lineup of Claxton/DFS/LBJ/NAW/Luka with a bench of AR15/Rui/Vando/Goodwin/Hayes has the talent, coaching, and depth to compete(mb not beat) vs OKC
