Improving the East

New Orleans

The Pels get two top-20 picks this year, to add to their newfound Fears-Queen core. They also get Essengue, who I know next-to-nothing about but functionally acts as another first round pick. If they land them, they could win up with five of their main eight or so guys as first and second year players. That may not turn into much, but that's the only real option they have.

Chicago

The Bulls create a big three with Trey-Matas and whichever of Boozer/Wilson they get. Both guys are going to be instant all-star level players, so Chicago may as well lean into it, especially in a weak East. Jones is not bad at the point, and I'd heavily consider keeping Sexton, if not Simmons. By capitalizing now, they get a real stud without really sacrificing their future at all.

Toronto

Feels fairly obvious. Not sure how wide the talent gap is between the two, but Giddey is the better playmaker and the more consistently available player. IMHO, if they had him this past season instead of Quick, they wind up beating the Cavs and winning at least 2 games against Detroit. Bey also does a lot for their scoring woes.
