For the Sabonis trade, maybe the Kings convince the Hawks to throw in the Pelicans swap, but it is unlikely. Porzingis is a serviceable replacement and the $42 million coming off the books from him and Kennard is a win.

For the DeMar swap, getting him back to Toronto would be a cool outcome as they compete for the top spot in the east. Quickley is a buy-low option given his contract, and maybe he can put up big numbers on a Kings team that isn’t necessarily looking to compete.

LaVine’s contract will be gone come the 2027 offseason (he’s unmovable). The Kings should tank for top 10 picks each of the next two years. From there, they should have spending money in 2027 free agency and can develop around a core of Keegan Murray - Immanuel Quickley - Niq Clifford - 2026 pick (Mikel Brown Jr.) - 2027 pick. Maybe you keep Porzingis around, but these moves allow Sacramento to develop young talent and commit to a much needed rebuild.
