Spurs get a second because they cancel the protection and Toronto free up their picks
WHY SUNS DO IT:
Starting 5: Beal, Booker, GTJ, KD, Nurkic
They need depth like human beings need water, this 2x1 is IMO the best they can get.
WHY BLAZERS DO IT:
They are now 2,6M above tax, but could easily go below buying out/cutting OPJ and Young and stretching them for 2 years.
For Dame:
A solid, young, starter: Ayton
Solid trade chip: Boucher
Young players: Precious, Flynn
Picks: 3 firsts + 2023 lottery pick + 2 tasty swaps
Starting 5: Scoot, Anf, Sharpe, Grant, Ayton
Bench: Flynn, Thybulle, Little, Dick (pun intended), Murray, Boucher, Precious
Not a bad start of rebuild.
WHY TORONTO DO IT:
I found a way to stay below tax.
Starting 5: Dame, OG, Scottie, Siakam, Poeltl
Bench: Dennis, Davis, Winslow, McD, Dedmon
Others: Dowtin, Goodwin, Temple, Wainright, Koloko
I did the best I could: Is this a championship team? I mean, the east is open, I think only the Bucks are better. Boston's rotation is too short, Phila is closer to a rebuild, Cavs need an important change, the others are simply not good enough unless NY/Nets get Embiid. West will be a war and the winner could be dead tired for the finals.
Starting 5 is of course great, off the bench Schroeder and McD are solid, if Davis and Winslow find their role they are not that bad.
