Bulls salvage offseason (maybe?)

SUCCESS

First, let me go through why I think these trades would not happen (because I know the hate comes first).

  • Bucks: They have very little draft capital left and just signed 3 different guards, so trading for two more might be unrealistic. I think the Boucher signing could help, and I think they could field a competent 10-man lineup after this trade. Maybe 2 firsts might be a bit much, but I think getting off of cardio kuz and getting coby white would be a major benefit for a team with very little competent guard play.

  • Bulls: So far, it seems as if they have several illiterate toddlers running their front office. They blundered Derozen, Lavine (debatable), Lonzo, and Caruso trades, so I have very little faith that they would be able to extract any value from the rest of their roster. I think Coby and Ayo are their most value assets that they could actually get some value from, but at this point, I'd bet that the bulls will just let both of them walk.

-Jazz: Why trade an expiring salary and 2 seconds for an extremely disappointing forward on an overpriced deal? Nurkic and P will both suck, but maybe the Jazz want to take a flier on him? Their offseason has truly confused me so I have no clue what they are/aren't willing to do after they mismanaged Sexton, Clarkson, and Collins.

-Lakers: Why trade a swap (I think some light protection should be added but idk how to add that) when they might be bad? I personally am super low on Vincent and Maxi, so i think trading them as well as Knect (who they have been trying to trade) for two solid players could be good and would give them more perimeter defense and front court scoring as a reasonable price (in my opinion).

Now, as to why I like this for everyone:

-Bucks: The kuz for coby is a straight-up major win for this team and gives them a much-needed perimeter threat they will be lacking without Dame next year. Myles turner and Giannis duo on their own is not moving me and I think if more moves aren't made, they will not make it past the second round, even in the weak East. They secure some youth (given he resigns) and reassure giannis that they actually are trying to win, ensuring he will stay with the team.

-Bulls: They shock everyone and actually commit to a rebuild by trading away most of the players that have value. IDK how i feel about Josh Giddy, but he was on a tear to end the 25 season so signing him a little below what he wants would be a win for everyone in case he regresses. They finally commit to getting some young talent on the team and moving towards creating future cap space (Nurkic, Vincent, Kleber, Collins, and Heurter), and starting a youth movement around Matas and Noa. Extracting picks from the lakers and bucks could be major in the future as both these teams could suck in the next 4-8 years. As importantly, the Bulls commit to being BAD to give themselves a real chance of securing a top 5 pick in next year's loaded draft.

-Jazz: Take a flier on a former lottery pick in exchange for 2 SRPs they probably would have to trade away either way due to their sheer volume of draft capital and the expiring Nurkic salary (who at best is going to be a bench big. The Jazz are the least likely to go through with this trade IMO, but they don't have their true star (Maybe Ace?), so acquiring more young players could be beneficial.

  • Lakers: Outside of Luka, Bron, and to a lesser extent Rui and AR, this team is full of mid. Using their dwindling draft capital and a young player they want to get rid of to get two high-quality role players seems like a dub to me. I know the league is against Vuc, but I think the real gem is Ayo. With both these players on expiring salaries, I think giving both of them a real chance to earn a second contract with the Lakers and build a deeper team around Lebron and Luka. Ayo's perimeter defense and Vuc's scoring could really help this team. I think they should both come off the bench and give some life to a lackluster bench. Vuc has awful defense, but I think Vando/Laravia could make up for it and his pick and pop talent is well worth the risk.

Let me know what yall think!
