New Lineup:

Cade/Herro/Ausar/Smith Jr/Duren Jenkins/Joe/Green/Harris/Reed

Pistons drastically improve their starting lineup in 2 positions. Herro provides the same spacing and 3pt shooting as Duncan Robinson, but adds a shot-creating and ball-handling aspect which Cade desperately needs. Jabari Smith Jr possesses a 6’11 frame, athleticism, 3&D ability, and team-friendly contract for the next 4 years, making him a perfect fit for this team and its timeline.

They also replicate Duncan’s shooting off the bench with the acquisition of Isaiah Joe. We just saw the Thunder do a similar deal with Aaron Wiggins, as they’re trying to dump salary and avoid the second apron. Joe is an elite shooter and would fit perfectly as 7th or 8th man off the bench.

(I’m a little unsure about Jabari Smith Jr. value league-wide, the Pistons might have to include pick 21 too)
