Following the KD trade, The Rockets line up and core is still intact. With that, their bench can still be stretched. Losing 2 quality players(Green & Brooks), their bench now lacks another scoring/quality time player. And this trade might be the answer. Rockets playing as a support in this trade by Letting go of Holiday and Williams for flexibility to sign Jaden Ivey, might be one of their best possible moves going into the season. Receiving also a 2FRP from the NETS.

On the other side, The lakers have been needing a center and Claxton is said to be one of their targets to acquire. With this, they can get Claxton adding also Holiday from the rockets. While the Nets will have quality role players in addition to their roster. With money flexibility, they can just sign another FA Center while having this much addition to their roster.
