Welcome back to another trade by kawntent sports. In this deal, the Magic move Cole Anthony as they have rumored to be wanting to, and in exchange they get draft assets from the Clippers along with Amir Coffey and Kobe Brown.

Why the Clippers do this:

The Clippers need to move into a new era or at least prepare to do so with the Kawhi and Paul George situation potentially coming to an end next offseason. Cole Anthony enables them to do that, bringing in a guy in need of opportunity to run the point guard for many years to come. They also manage to keep a first round pick every year, enabling them to still trade their 2028 and 2030 first round picks in order to contend if needed. They also manage to gain a second round pick in the trade.

Why the Magic do this:

The Magic have been saying they want to deal Cole Anthony and this deal does just that and brings in some nice bench pieces in Coffey and Brown, along with some important pick swaps in 2027 and 2029 with the Clippers. The little brother LA team projects to be awful by then, with Cole Anthony and Bones Hyland projecting to be the leaders of the team in the next era of Clippers basketball. This could enable the Magic to get top picks in the draft while their players are in their primes, which could help them keep the potential dynasty rolling deep into the future.
