Suns give up Kevin Durant and receive Lauri Makkanen, Jeremy Sochan, and the ATL #14 pick for the Spurs. The Suns get needed size, and a draft pick to select Jace Richardson.
The Spurs trade Vassell, Barnes, Keldon Johnson, Sochan, the #2 pick, and #14 for KD, John Collins, #5, and #21. The reason is obvious: they get KD and an under-the-radar Collins, with #5 to draft Malauch and drop down a bit to satisfy the Suns want of a close to lottery pick for all their decent-sized salary pieces in Barnes, Keldon, Johnson, and Sochan, plus the #2 pick. I understand why they should draft Harper, but realistically, he's only going to get 15 minutes a game in his rookie year, and Durant will only be playing at this level for 1-2 years.
The Jazz finally get a bonafide star, and dump a lot of salary to do so. Markkanen feels underused, and Collins is expiring. Combine them all for Dylan Harper and start the rebuild over.
