these moves are contingent on Donovan Mitchell signing his extension

recent news has indicated 2 major changes that the Cavs need to make if Mitchell is sticking around long term. #1 the Cavs need to trade Garland if Mitchell stays, as the two do not work well together. #2 regardless of Mitchell staying or leaving, it’s clear that one of Jarrett Allen or Evan Mobley need to be moved, as they also don’t work well together. this trade not only brings in another offensive borderline all star in Brandon Ingram, but bigger switchable wings which the Cavs have been lacking in Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan. a rotation of Mitchell, Strus, Ingram, Sochan, Mobley, LeVert, Keldon Johnson, Dean Wade, and the #8 pick is a very good mix and is still very young.

note: i personally think this is a bit of an overpay on the Spurs end for Garland, but all media sources have indicated that Garland’s value is very high, seems like the Spurs would need to give up a package similar to this to acquire him
