Why They Do This

Orlando

• WCJ and Fultz have proven over the last 3 seasons or so that they aren't reliable enough to play 60+ games per season. Capitalizing on WCJ's declining scale contract ($13m this year > $11.9m > $10.8m) and Fultz's expiring $17m is a must

• Magic desperately need a PG who takes care of the ball and is a constant threat from 3-pt range: enter Tyus Jones (who I also believe the Magic could resign)

• Kispert gives them much needed 3-pt shooting depth to go along side Joe Ingles and Gary Harris

• Jalen Duren fits so well with Paolo and Franz it makes almost too much sense. Bitadze has demonstrated this year that a C that plays great interior D and rebounds at a high level is what the starting rotation needs

Detroit

• They need to hit the nuke button on this roster. Cade is the only guy who should be staying on this team long term, and getting team friendly contracts and picks should be the way they move forward.

• WCJ provides a level of maturity and work ethic that seems to be lacking in Detroit. While he may not play more than 60 games any year, his declining scale contract keeps the team flexible for future signings and draft picks

• Moving off of Burks is just obvious let's be real ### Washington

• Fultz when healthy provides the contrast to Poole that they need at PG. A slashing, high level defensive guard who can manage a game amongst the best of them.

• If it doesn't work, Fultz is expiring, they get a 1st round pick, and an immediate 2nd to build depth around Kuzma and Poole

• Burks is another expiring contract, leaving them with an extra $27m+ in extra cap room in the off season they wouldn't have otherwise had.
